Unit 1. Translation and difference
This is the introductory unit of the META-FRASEIS project, the videopresentation TRANSLATION AND DIFFERENCE. It is intended to highlight aspects of the research perspectives associated with translation practice. It shows the potential of translation to shape, reflect and eloquently highlight diversity in linguistic, cultural and other identities of source and target languages and the potential of translation to contribute to consolidating language competence in a foreign language. The data in this introductory unit come from translation research activity in the context of two MA Programmes of the School of Philosophy, University of Athens, in the spring of 2007.
