Ενότητα 3. Translation and identity in the EU
The viopresentation TRANSLATION AND IDENTITY IN THE EU examines samples of Greek and English EU discourse to show traces of features which are attributed to Greek and English social behaviour in Hofstede and Hofstede's intercultural theory (2005). The research claims that if certain features ARE traceable in the Greek versions of European texts, despite their hybridity, then translation in the EU context should cater for assymetries in 'equivalence' which ensure reflection of cultural and linguistic identities.
Unit 3 also comprises a written summary of the videopresentation in English. Please, follow the links to view the material.
